Boukenger Movie: The Greatest Precious
By Gerald Conde

Summary
Akashi's watch falls in a pool the gang as at and Natsuki apologizes. He jumps in after it and it gets sucked into a hole. Muse, an alien causes the Earth to shake and the whole city's ground quakes. She appears on all the television monitors, Muse asks the people on Earth to go to her in order to obtain a most valuable Precious. A giant mountain raises from the ground. Three sects of the negative syndicate react to it and come out in droves. A Karth is about to attack a young boy and a mysterious man comes to save him. Dark Shadow teases the Jaryuu and Gekkou calls upon past monsters to help his two soldiers. The Boukenger arrive in the center of the three sects and transform and fight. They take down their forces and the leaders of the three. The five are then attacked by the Quester's new Robo and they are de-transform. The Robo heads for the mountain and SirenBuilder stops them. Bouken Silver fight the Questers. The Boukenger climb the mountain and find Kouichi, who brings Akashi down with his rope. Kouichi goes ahead of them. At SGS, Makino looks up the mountain, which is back from Dinosaur times. The Boukenger arrive to the top and are shocked to find out Kouichi is Akashi's father. Karths and Jaryuu arrive and muse addresses the heroes. All of them are sucked into a hole that there is a storm occurring. They are land in water during this storm. A whirlpool sucks in the villains and our heroes manage to escape. The five Boukenger arrive to a shore.

The Questers are about to kill Bouken Silver, when he contacts Makino. Silver manages to save himself and break the Robo. He destroys the robot. The five walk the desert, a fire begins and the team runs from it. Natsuki goes after her cantine and she and Souta get burned up and disappear. Akashi spots Muse and she disappears as well. Natsuki and Souta encounter muse within the fire. Akashi, Sakura, and Masumi continue in a jungle and find Kouichi. A giant bug is captured by him, but two even bigger one comes after them. Akashi manages to stop one bug, while the other one chases Sakura and Masumi. Masumi climbs a tree and the bug cuts it. The tree squashes the bug dead. Kouichi saves his son from the other bug and Akashi defeats it. A horde of bugs take the others, leaving father and son alone. At SGS, Mister Voice and Makino inform Eiji that Hyde Gene wiped the dinosaurs out. Akashi and dad escape the bugs and find an entrance to a cave. Akashi enters the cave alone and encounters Muse. She is collecting superior lifeform. She shows him a capture Karth, Jaryuu and his teammates. She straps Akashi down. Kouichi enters and interferes, releasing the Boukenger. Akashi takes Muse down, she becomes her true form: Hyde Gene. The heroes walk out of the cave, releasing everything they encountered were holograms. Hyde Gene leaps in front of them and Eiji comes to the rescue. Makino talks to Kouichi through Eiji's changer. The Boukenger transform and do their roll call and then fight Hyde Gene. Hyde Gene blasts back at them and sends them to a foggy area. They are hit by three explosions and Hyde Gene comes towards them. Each Boukenger fights him but he is too strong. Eiji manages to best him and the others burn him up, but he rushes past them and flies up in the air, blasting at them. They are down on the ground but not out. Bouken Red does a move like his father and slashes at the enemy in the air.

They use the Dual Crasher and SagaSniper against Hyde Gene, destroying him. The hologram ends and they are back in the cave. They escape with Kouichi as the cave quakes. Hyde Gene comes out of the mountain as Stringross and flies out. Red tells Silver to take out the fires with SirenBuilder. They form Ultimate DaiBouken to fight Stingross. Stingross appears to be gone but he appears behind them and causes them damage. Red escape in the Aux mecha, making DaiBouken. Akashi forms DaiTanken, even though Makino advises him not to. DaiTanken gets on top of Stingross and fights. He gives DaiBouken the drill and they release themselves. DaiBouken is saved by DaiTanken with one arm. The two do their finishers on Stingross and he weakens. Red looks go the head as a bomb and the two robos jump off from the explosion. Ultimate DaiBouken flies out of the explosion, being saluted by the city populace. Kouichi spots a glimmer on the ground and it is the watch he gave his son. The six are gathered outside and talk of their adventure, they tease Akashi. He gas a note on his back from his father that Sakura reads. The back of the note is a picture of father and son as a child. Kouichi leaves town on a barge with the two watches: his and his son's. Akashi manages to get the picture but then it flies out of his hands.

Special Note
It may not be the greatest of trivia, but for the first time ever in a long time, (I am not sure it hasn't been done before) monsters from past series were used. They are seen only for a couple of minutes, they are with the Dark Shadow troop, they appear behind recycled monsters from the series. I spotted a couple from Dekaranger and one or two from Magiranger that were blue.

My Opinion
Boukenger is a great series but it serves a un-even slap-dash movie. I think the movies should have to do as much it can to the series or even resemble it. That was the case in the past, but the current movies kind of ascew from the feeling of their actual show. Now, Boukenger Movie: The Great Precious is not completely off, at least they don't go to another country or dimension, but they deal with some kind of alien, but is really a demon or something and somehow Akashi's father is involved. It would have ben nice that there was more to the father/son relationship. For a father, Kouichi is a pretty crappy one. It was nice idea to include him, but it wasn't executed well.

Conclusion
It is not a bad or horrible movie, but you can feel fine not watching it, it isn't a must-see. If you have time to blow, this is a lot more entraining than that the dribble Americans are hashing out for children as 'Entertainment.'
