Dekaranger the Movie: Full Blast Action

Summary
Little girls run on a beach on the planet Leslie. They stop to look at Marigold flowers. They are blasted with a serum and fall ill. They become cyborgs. Machines take over the city and it burns. Four people marvel at it. A woman in white tells them to freeze as she points her guns at them. Back on earth, the Dekaranger Robo rides the DekaBike to go after a stolen vehicle from the planet Leslie. Dekaranger Robo leaps off the vehicle and shoots the UFO. Three lights fly out of it and explode. The six Dekaranger land near it and it is two men and a woman. They turn into their machine forms, they are Algolians, souls inside machines. Jasmine says their names are Brandel, Winsky and Zeen. brandel carries a case and he lets go Anaroids for them to fight. Brandel blasts at them and DekaBreak takes them down. He catches the case and prsents himself. He goes on his bike and leaves. The Dekaranger are blasted at by an unknown assilant and the others retreat. The case contains a gun containing a virus. Doggie briefs them on it at master control. He tells Tetsu to fly to planet Leslie to invesegate. Sawn says she will analyze the virus. doggie informs them on the Algolians and tells them to find them, so the five go on patrol at night. They ask people around the city. Jasmine and Ban go to the Alien club Better Tomorrow and find a beautiful woman named Mari Gold singing. Ban's attention to drawn to her.

She gives him a marigold flower and a glass is about to fall and she stops it in time. She grabs it and he marvels at frozen time. They walk outside on a bridge, she marvels at the wind. He apologizes that he protects the city and is after bad guys and can't date her. She laughs at him and shows him her SPD badge. She was doing undercover. At the hideout of the Algolians, their boss Vulgar arrives and punches down his comrades. Agent Aburera arrives and berates them. the virus is called the Golden Snow and they turned people into their slaces, Mari explains to the Earth Dekaranger. They are after the vaccine and sell it for a large price. Swan tells Doggie it is hard to make a vaccine. Mari says there is only one method to get the vaccine. The Dekaranger believe in working together but Mari is not so optimistic. Umeko and Mari bathe together in her bath tub with bubbles. She tries to cheer up Mari, telling her Ban always saves the day. She says Ban shines too much for her as she looks at the night city by herself. She thinks back to the pain on her planet. Mari freezes Swan and takes the golden snow. Sen takes his thinking pose and suspects she has defected to the bad side and Ban gets mad at him. He gets punched down. Jasmine touches the base of the virus and finds the location of where she went.

She meets with the Algolians for the trade for the vaccine in their hideout. The Dekaranger arrive. Vulgar says she had no choice because she lost to them. She says they can't beat them. in a flashback, we see her transform into DekaGold on her home planet but they interrupt the transformation and bruise her badly. In a church, she pleaded for mercy from them. Ban berates her. vulgar transforms and injects Mari with the virus. The Dekaranger go to her aid. She says she brought it to herself and asks him to shoot her to prevent the spread of the virus to the Earth. He says he will protect her, the planet and her planet and get the vaccine. He won't forgive her if she dies. He says he stop her time of sadness, she calls him a fool. Murphy arrives barking and takes Mari to the Dekabase. The Algolians put down a pyramid outside as the five arrive. They transform and do their roll call. Judgement time says that deletion is approved. Blue fights Winsky and a Batsuroid with his DekaHusky, the girls fight Zeen with her Scorpion whip, Green fights Brandel on a bridge, and Red fights Vulgar. His guns go down and he is at the mercy of Vulgar. Just then, Deka Master arrives on his Helicopter and blasts at Vulgar.

Master jumps in from the chopper and presents himself. Three Igaroids are released and Ban goes after Vulgar as Master takes care of the three. Red blasts to the ground below him and makes a hole and jumps down and leaps up shooting at Vulgar. Outside, they continue their game of cat and mouse. Red gets rid of one of Vulgar's weapons and gets him crashing down. He lands next to him and Vulgar makes a fireball. Ban thinks of Mari and screams uncontrollably and avoids the blasts as he races toward the perp. He finishes him off. The vaccine falls and Vulgar shuts down. The helicopter comes around and Red throws the vaccine to DekaMaster. The five gather and Vulgar wakes up and turns on the pyramid he had and teleports away. He returns to his Killer Tank on the planet Leslie and a telportation portal arrives. It is DekarangerRobo. He brings them down. They call for the Judgment sword and free themselves. They are at a time still with their guns until he blasts them back.  They struggle to get up. he is about tofinish them off when BlastBuggy arrives. DekaBreak is piloting it. He circles around Killer tank, confusing it. DekaBreak explains it was left on this planet's DekaBase. They combine and make Dekaranger Robo Full Blast Custom.

A horde of Killer Tanks circle them. They exchange blasts and take the other tanks down. Vulgar makes a line of tanks to shield him. With the Full Blast Launcher, they use full charge energy to cut through all the tanks to get to him. He dies in the explosion. Back on Earth, MaiGold is back to full health and places down the pyramid to teleport back home. She says her people will rebuild. Ban asks her to return, she agrees and says goodbye. As she leaves, she freezes time and kisses him on the cheek and holds his hand, and unfreezes it. He is berated by Blue and she teleports away. The six rough house. Swan and Doggie watch the movie together in a movie theater.

My Opinion
If you never seen Dekaranger and want a peek at the series, always check this movie out. It is great, fun and fulfilling. It really does encompass the spirit of the series and expands the mythology. The movie clearly is inspired by Terminator, with the scene of Killer Tanks roaming the planet of Leslie and how DekarangerRobo teleports to the planet. Everyone was just thrilled to see Deka Gold, even if it was just for a few seconds. Mari Gold is a great character, she can be misinterpreted as a fool or damsel in distress, but it can be taken that she has been through a lot. Even though I wish DekaGold got more screen time in her uniform, the movie is really good. I show this movie to my three year-old nephews who love SPD and they couldn't tell the difference.

Conclusion
Definite watch for Dekaranger fans and non-fans alike.
