Leiji Mutsumoto and His dream
Yes I know lately you’ve seen a lot of reviews of Leiji Mutsumoto’s work but this one in particular
came to mind when I watched the first episode of Galaxy Railways on the HD TV in my living room. I’m still not
finished reviewing his work though so expect more =].
He imagined that within the distant future that Humans will find ways of living for thousands of years by implementing machine parts in our bodys.
He imagined that the way we will travel though space is from trains with such things as warp drives and steller shields that will let us open our windows.
He imagined that we will find other habitable planets in our galaxy and use them to full advantage.
He Imagined that there will be Pirates and Army’s flying in space craft that look like Battleships from our time.
He put the stories of human lives in his works so that we can remember and enjoy the simple things in life again.
He imagined there will be a whole Space Defense Force to protect all living things in the galaxy.
He asked Isao Sasaka and a lot of other great Japanese singers to do the theme songs for his work and they all sound beautiful.
He dreamed that the Galaxy Express 999 will take you on a journey to the stars.
He dreamed that under the flag Captain Harlock knew of freedom.
He dreamed that the spaceship yamato will always fight on.
He dreamed that nothing could ever break the Galaxy Railways of life.
He dreamed that Queen Emeraldas was Eternal.
I could keep going with all of the beautiful refrences and facts about Leiji Mutsumoto’s work
But I would rather you people of the world just watch it for yourself and
experience all the wonderful things I have experienced over the past of my years while
watching his work, He really is a Visionary when it comes to the anime/manga he writes and designs
for that I am really willing to say he is one of the best there is when it comes to anime/manga and
so many other stuff make great homages to his work like an episode of Ultraman Dyna and the entire
Kamen Rider Den-O series. So many people only know him as the one who Illistrated Interstella 5555 but he
has done so much better things besides that and I feel as if he does not get the recognition he deserves.
Part of the reason why I dont think many people like his work is because he uses that old school
style for all of his characters that make his work so classic.
So ladies and gentlemen. I beg of you to support all of Leiji Mutsumoto’s work. He may write for Naruto,Bleach or
any other of the current overrated anime’s but what he does he does with spirit and imagination that is beautiful
beyond comparison to some of those others.
Ok I’m done ranting. I just wish more people would experience Leiji Mutsumoto’s work.
